The history of our Foundation is woven throughout four major stages. Although our legal entity was formally established in 2013, our institutional activities began to be outlined in 2005.
STAGE I – Academic Roots
From the year 2005 to 2010, the seed of our institutional projects were cared for in the Centro Argentino de Estudios Internacionales, Asociación Civil, a community of about 100 young investigators who graduated from various masters in international studies. In the year 2007, the creation of the programme Programa de Fenomenologia Politica (PFP) helped in creating investigation studies. The first study was published in the first trimester regarding the Observatorio Malvinas. Soon, a second investigation of the Observatorio Polar dedicated to matters regarding the Antarctic. These were the first academic investigation studies regarding Malvinas and the Antarctic in the country. Shortly, these trimestral published studies were in more than 30 digital magazines. These articles were about empirical development of the agenda of foreign affairs of every country in Latin America, the BRIC and those already mentioned about the Malvinas Islands and the Antarctic.
After a period of rigorous and methodical field investigations, the centre of studies began to debate its transformation to a Think Tank. It was the arrival of the Policy Brief, short briefs that help bring together suggested valued and prospective actions in public policies. These briefs were grouped in three verticals: Argentina Austral (about matters regarding the Antarctic and the Malvinas Islands); Argentina South America (about process of integration Mercosur – Unasur); and Argentina Emergent (about policies of BRICS and the proposal of creating a new group, GRUPO VISTA that’s Vietnam, Indonesia, South Africa, Turkey and Argentina).
The centre of studies was formed in a diverse and plural academic community. It works in strategic policies, that’s why it requires an independent structure with dynamic and valued positioning in matters of Advocacy per sector and thematic. That is how the need for a Foundation began.
Phase II – Growth in activism
The advocacy for the cause of the Malvinas Islands and the Antarctic reached a nation-wide status soon. The investigators of these studies began to have an increased incidence in the sharing of contents in their academic environments and the local press. They started giving a series of talks in different cities in the country. The acquired knowledge by the investigators allowed an open dialogue among all sectors of the academic environments. Common interest groups were created quite soon, as well as investigation centres, territorial movements, political association of different doctrinal roots, veterans of the Malvinas Island War and cultural centres.
In this ecosystem of relations, it was born the Movimiento de Pueblos por Malvinas (People for Malvinas Movement) that created a federal net for spreading contents by inviting artists, sport people, personalities with knowledge. It was set up a campaign to bring awareness and social training in collecting signatures for a petition to the UN, Special Committee on Decolonization.
The energy brought about in all these relations helps to cross the border to sports. There, it was born the Maratón Malvinas Corazón de mi País (Marathon for The Malvinas, heart of my country) as well known as Maraton Malvinas por el dialogo y la paz (Marathon for dialogue and peace in the Malvinas Islands). The foundation ArgentinaASE was creator, organiser, promotor of all the 10 editions of the Marathon in different cities in Argentina from 2013 to 2014, where 35,000 people participated.

Phase III – The Political Laboratory
The federal relations kept growing. Every city that welcomed our campaign People for the Malvinas submitted a declaration of interest from the Local Municipal Council. By 2014, Pueblos por Malvinas and Maratón Malvinas Corazón de Mi País (People for the Malvinas Islands and Malvinas, Heart of my country Marathon) received accession from the National Congress and Senate, seventeen Provincial Congress, 200 and more local municipalities, and even a dozen of Latin America embassies.
This itinerary took our foundation to the field of Public Policies. It has made it possible for us to establish close collaboration with government teams working in matters of the Antarctic and the Malvinas Islands. That’s why we accompanied the beginning of the birth of Pampa Azul, the dissemination of Mapa Continental (Continental Map), debating the creation of a protected area Namincura – Burdwood, the edition of Dialogue for the Malvinas in the province of Tierra del Fuego, as well as debating the creation of a National Commission for matters regarding the Ocean (CONAO). It will be similar in characteristics to CONEA and CONAE.

Phase IV – The Technological Transformation
Our insertion on public affairs helped us to mature a vocation: joining in a unique strategy, the environmental protection of the Argentine maritime space and the agenda of development and economic growth. In this way, around the idea of Argentina Oceanic and Bi-Continental, our foundation began its activities with the vocation of humanising strategic affairs through technology in 2013.
Our history helped us to go through various ecosystems of relations, placing us today committed to education, promotion of strategic affairs and environmental monitoring of our natural oceanic patrimony.
